2011 Renovation

CAA ICON served as Owner's Representative for the Portland Timbers providing Project Management services for the $37 million renovation of Providence Park, which consisted primarily of construction of a new 3500-seat outfield infill to adjust the venue’s configuration from baseball to soccer. The addition added club seats and club restaurant space and completed the traditional “horseshoe” shape of the majority of MLS complexes, which created an intimate stadium experience in the downtown urban core. Renovations to the restrooms and locker rooms in the existing facility were also completed. The renovation of the 85-year-old downtown facility earned LEED Silver status from the U.S. Green Building Council.

A New Era

CAA ICON recently performed a second round of Project Management services for the Portland Timbers on a $85 million privately-funded project that added 4,000 seats and a new street-level colonnade to the east side of the stadium, bringing its capacity to just over 25,000. Additionally, a new FieldTurf field was installed. The full project was completed by the 2019 MLS season.
