The Approach

The practice facility for the Los Angeles Kings underwent a renovation of areas used by players, coaches, and hockey operations. The 15,000 sf renovation was completed in two phases, allowing the work to be done during the team’s ongoing championship season.

Goals

The goal of the project was to increase and enhance the players' areas while taking advantage of the Southern California climate. The goal was realized by relocating the weight room to the second floor and introducing two large operable skylights, two glazed roll-up doors on the North elevation of the facility, and a new internal stair connecting the weight room to the lounge below. The players’ changing and video screening rooms were also upgraded to finish levels fitting the caliber of the end user.
