CAA ICON Strategic Advisory represented MountainStar Sports Group in its 2013 acquisition of the Triple A Tucson Padres, negotiation with the City of El Paso for the development, financing, and management of a new ballpark in downtown El Paso, and presentation to the Pacific Coast League and Minor League Baseball for approval of the relocation to El Paso, among numerous tasks. BSG was involved from the very beginning of the project to opening day of the ballpark. Dan Barrett was a critical member of the team, served as Mountain Star’s lead negotiator, and was also responsible for identifying and bringing in additional resources as needed. His experience, industry knowledge, work ethic, professionalism, and integrity were respected by everyone. But the qualities that set Dan apart from his peers are his leadership ability, his creativity in crafting solutions to complex financial, operational, and political issues, and his ability to listen to project stakeholders to bring parties together and deals with closure.
