Expansion

Tim Romani served as the Principal-in-Charge for the $308 million Colorado Convention Center Expansion project representing the City and County of Denver. The 1.5 million sf expansion made Denver’s convention center the 15th largest in the nation. The renovation doubled the size of the main exhibit hall, increased the capacity of the lobby space and meeting rooms, and added two ballrooms. The project additionally created a new 5,000-seat lecture hall and gave the city of Denver a total of 2.4 million sf of convention space under one roof, along with a new 1,000-space parking garage on three levels.

Flexibility

Additional elements included a larger full-service kitchen, approximately 30 new loading docks, a pedestrian bridge between the convention center and the performing arts complex to the north, and flexibility for future expansion of the meeting rooms and ballrooms.
