Music First
Manchester’s newest arena, Co-op Live, is helping turn the city into a global entertainment destination. As the UK's only music-first arena, Co-op Live boasts the largest floor space of any indoor venue, a significantly lower ceiling, and tiered seating that brings fans closer to the artist. Along with drawing large music tours to Manchester, the venue also hosts a wide range of other events including international sports tournaments, family shows, and emerging formats such as esports.
Making a Difference
Co-op Live is set to be the UK's first and only 100% electric arena, powered by a combination of renewably sourced electricity and on-site solar panels. The venue’s roof harvests Manchester’s abundance of rainfall, which is then reused in and around the venue. Sustainable elements extend beyond the building, as the neighboring mile-long pedestrian path was upgraded with lighting installations and busking spots for musicians to encourage walking rather than driving.
